A celebration by The National Library of Scotland of one of the world's most extraordinary literary archives, The Murray archive. Publisher of Jane Austen, Sir Walter Scott, Washington Irving, George Crabbe and many others. John Murray's home and office at 50 Albemarle Street in Mayfair was the centre of a literary circle, fostered by Murray's tradition of "Four o'clock friends", afternoon tea with his writers. Using source material from the archive as inspiration, the edible delights we created included inky cocktails, a letter written by James Hogg and leather inspired by explorers journals.
